Our Resident Faculty

In 2006 he established and founded Beverly Hills Dental Laboratory in Beverly Hills, California.
Sam is a recognized leader in the dental industry and has been featured in various dental publications for his influence and dedication to the profession of dentistry.
His expertise is on the importance of technical clinical communications and their implementations for successful case planning and patient satisfaction. He is a keen and avid supporter and member of many study groups. He instructed various hands-on crown and bridge courses and hosted presentations throughout the MiddleEast, Europe and the United States.
In 2014, Sam opened a state-of-the-art educational facility, which offers a spacious venue where dental professionals and students can come together to advance their knowledge, practice their craftsmanship, and exchange ideas. The educational facility offers and fosters a wide range of training programs, study groups, and continuing education courses, including advanced classes with world renowned dental specialists.
In 2020 Mr. Willi Geller of the Oral Design Foundation based in Switzerland invited Sam to be an active member of the Oral Design Family. Since then, Sam has been invited to be an associate member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, as well as an affiliate member of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics.
In 2022, Sam established Magne Education, a globally recognized dental continuing education organization for dentists, where he currently serves as the CEO.

Upon graduating from the University of Geneva, Switzerland, in 1989 with a Med Dent degree,he was offered a position as a lecturer at the dental school, while practicing and receiving further training in fixed prosthodontics and other technical skills. At the same time, he pursued two doctorates, one awarded in 1992 (DMD) and the other in 2002 (Ph.D.), the latter in conjunction with co-authoring the book Bonded Porcelain Restorations in the Anterior Dentition—A Biomimetic Approach, with his mentor, Professor Urs Belser, which has been translated into 12 languages. « The biomimetic principle refers to using technology and dental materials to preserve and replicate the structure and function of teeth, » he explained.
He would add to his research on dental innovations at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1997-1999, before returning to Geneva. His discoveries have been widely published, resulting in many awards.
Before his graduation from dental school, Pascal had been captivated by the beautiful photos of the lifelike porcelain restorations created by his older brother, Michel, who was the in-house technician for a dentist.
In 1991, Pascal started working with Claude Sieber using a new dental porcelain developed with Vita. It was a turning point. « For the first time I could see the porcelain of a master inside of the mouth of my own patients, » he said.

Pascal was recruited as a full-time tenured faculty of the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry at the University of Southern California School in 2004, as the Don and Sybil Harrington Professor of Esthetic dentistry. During his tenure at Ostrow, Dr. Magne spearheaded a multitude of curricular innovations in the areas of biomimetics, minimally invasive dentistry, and bonding techniques. His scholarly activity during his years there yielded over 100 peer-reviewed publications and over 200 continuing education programs nationally and internationally.
As the preclinical director (2012-2020) of the Dental Morphology, Function and Esthetics module at Ostrow, Dr. Magne has also developed an innovative approach to teaching dental anatomy and morphology. In 2021, Dr. Magne published the second edition of his bestselling book entitled Biomimetic Restorative Dentistry. It has already been translated into several languages.
After 33 years in the Academia, Dr. Magne eagerly accepted the exciting opportunity of the CER BRD educational programs offered by Beverly Hills Dental Laboratory last year.

Michel received his dental technician certification in 1979 in his home country of Switzerland. He specializes in aesthetic rehabilitations and bonded porcelain restorations, and has published extensively on these topics.
Before co-founding Beverly Hills Dental Laboratory, Michel was an associate professor of clinical dentistry and director of the Center for Dental Technology at the USC. He also ran his own laboratory, 901 Oral Design, in Marina del Rey. Prior to that, he spent 12 years as the owner and director of the Oral Design Center at the Dental Laboratory in Montreux, Switzerland.

Driven by his passion for innovation and research, Dr. Razaghy continued his journey in dentistry, actively participating in diverse research projects. His foray into dental research commenced with his collaboration in Dr. Pascal Magne’s research laboratory at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. Since then, alongside his teaching, Mehrdad has been extensively involved in numerous projects, collaborating with international visiting scholars under the guidance of Dr. Pascal Magne. His primary focus lies in biomimetic and minimally invasive restorative techniques, as well as advancements in dental materials.
Dr. Razaghy is a distinguished member of the international group known as the Bioemulation and has contributed to publications in reputable journals such as the Journal of Dental Materials and the International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry. He practices general and restorative dentistry at Mehrdad Razaghy DDS Inc., a private practice located in Beverly Hills. Additionally, Dr. Razaghy is an active international lecturer, imparting knowledge through various continuing education modules in biomimetic dentistry, dental photography, additive dentistry, digital smile design, rubber dam isolation, and bonded porcelain ceramic restorations. As a Clinical Director at Magne Education, Dr. Raz is involved in patient demonstration during Magne Education hands-on courses.

Andy’s pursuit of excellence led him to further his education under the mentorship of Dr. Edward McLaren at the UCLA Center for Esthetic Dentistry, where he completed the Master Ceramist Program in 2012. During this tenure, Andy honed his craft, mastering the intricacies of creating precise modified Geller Models, crafting ideal substructures with functional integrity, and producing high-quality cosmetic restorations for live patients. Additionally, he delved into cutting-edge materials and technologies through rigorous research, emphasizing the paramount importance of effective communication with both doctors and patients, leveraging micro and macro dental photography to enhance understanding and collaboration.
Recognizing the value of imparting knowledge and fostering the growth of future dental professionals, Andy transitioned to an esteemed faculty role in 2014, where he shares his passion and expertise with emerging talents. Simultaneously, he embarked on a journey with Beverly Hills Dental Laboratory in the same year, under the esteemed mentorship of industry luminaries Sam Alawie and Michel Magne, further enriching his practical insights and advancing his mastery in the field.
In addition to his contributions as a dental ceramist, Andy Jin Kim serves as a revered faculty member at Magne Education, where he continues to inspire and educate aspiring dental artisans, perpetuating a legacy of excellence in the field of dentistry.

During the initial phase of her career, Julianne immersed herself in chair-side dental assisting, refining her skills and accruing invaluable experience across various specialties, including oral surgery, endodontics, and general restorative dentistry. However, her trajectory took an intriguing turn when she relocated to Los Angeles, California, in 2018. There, she began pursuing an administrative career and encountered biomimetic restorative dentistry, a field that would capture her passion and propel her career in a new direction.
With a cumulative tenure of eleven years within the dental domain, Julianne showcased her adaptability and versatility by transitioning from chair-side duties to assuming administrative responsibilities. Her ability to seamlessly embrace new roles and provide comprehensive support to leading dental professionals, extending her expertise beyond clinical realms to encompass strategic administrative capacities, is truly commendable.
Currently serving as the Education Coordinator at Magne Education, Julianne is committed to fostering seamless learning experiences and facilitating effective communication for all participants. Her dedication not only underscores her commitment to the professional growth and development of dental professionals but also exemplifies her fervor for advancing the field. Beyond her official duties, Julianne actively champions the progression of knowledge and techniques within the dental community, finding fulfillment in contributing to the collective professional growth of her peers and leaders alike.
