On-demand biomimetic courses
Enamel/Dentin Adhesives
Course Duration: 80 minutes – 1 CE credit
Description
Proper adhesion of dental biomaterials to tooth structure is the cornerstone of the biomimetic restorative approach. This lesson begins with a review of the fundamental principles of resin bonding to enamel and dentin, emphasizing how their distinct structure and composition require specific protocols and careful handling. Dentin bonding, in particular, remains challenging due to the overwhelming variety of products and techniques available. Through a thorough scientific review considering chemical composition and long-term clinical performance gold-standard materials and procedures are identified and presented step by step, along with solutions to common clinical challenges such as dentin contamination, isolation issues, and operator error. The presentation concludes with the well-established Immediate Dentin Sealing (IDS) technique, including its application in pre-endodontic situations.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this webinar, clinicians will understand the most reliable, evidence-based approaches to resin bonding to tooth structure and be equipped to confidently select the appropriate material and method for achieving long-term success in their bonding protocols.
