Restoring large defects (in surface or volume) in posterior teeth using BRD techniques implies almost inevitably the use of CAD/CAM techniques either chairside (semi-direct) or through a dental laboratory (semi-indirect).

Traditional fully layered porcelain veneers remain a golden standard for anterior esthetics and longevity when strict clinical protocols (dentofacial digital diagnostic, waxup/mockup-driven design) and a very capable dental laboratory are combined.

This in-person intensive 5-day course by Dr. Pascal Magne will be conducted entirely in ENGLISH. Each day will consist of theory in the morning and hands-on practice in the afternoon.

Loss of form, function and esthetics are all reasons to consider a true biomimetic restorative approach to the treatment of wear/bio-corrosion lesions. Bonded restorations, due to their conservative nature, should be chosen whenever possible. Based on the individual situations and the perceived needs and concerns of the patient, direct and semi-(in)direct application of composite resins and/or bonded porcelain restorations can be proposed.

Traditional layered porcelain restorations require strict clinical protocols and a very capable dental laboratory. Cost-effectiveness and minimal invasiveness of milled restorations, however, have gained popularity for CAD/CAM use in posterior teeth and are in the process of being as popular in the anterior dentition.

BRD starts with acknowledging that we copy a model, a reference, namely the natural tooth and stomatognathic system. Hence, this module focuses on deep understanding of biomechanics, morphology (tooth by tooth), function (occlusion), and esthetics, as well as wear, aging and biocorrosion. The hands-on portion will focus on tooth morphology through various exercises.
