Minimally invasive full-mouth rehabilitations: Tight bites and deprogramming
Course Duration: 66 minutes
Description
This program addresses the restorative challenges of so-called “tight bites,” including patients with deep bites (often caused by localized bio-corrosion or wear of the maxillary anterior teeth) and Class III edge-to-edge relationships. In both scenarios, there is insufficient anterior clearance to accommodate additive restorations. Selecting the appropriate treatment strategy requires careful consideration of the type of wear (generalized versus localized bio-corrosion) and the severity and extent of tooth structure loss, while preserving a healthy and comfortable temporomandibular joint. This lesson explains how bite opening and passive deprogramming using a Lucia jig and, in some cases, the Dahl principle can significantly simplify treatment and enable minimally invasive additive procedures. The program also includes short instructional videos demonstrating the fabrication of the deprogrammer.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this webinar, both clinicians and dental technicians will be able to approach complex wear/biocorrosion cases with a simplified approach.
Added bonus: step-by step video on how to fabricate a maxillary Lucia jig in EXOCAD
